Maths Mate sheet 2 question 22

Prediction: I predict this problem is going to involve accsessing prior knowledge

Read: For hurdles races, the hurdles are placed 10m apart. For example, a 60m race has 5 hurdles. How many hurdles are required for a 100m race ?

Clarify: —

Find the big picture: How many hurdles are required for a 100m race ?

Solution : well If there were only 5 hurdles in a 60m race that’s because there wouldn’t be a hurdle at the very start. If it were a 100m race there would only be 9 hurdles because again, you wouldn’t he a hurdle at the very start.

Summary: In the end the answer was 9. during the time i spent working out this problem I accessed my prior knowledge and tried to think back and see if i had done a similar problem before.

Find the big picture: swap two weights to make sure both sides of the scale weight the same amount.

Solution :  1 add up both sides to see how much the both weigh right 16 left 12

100 Word Challenge week #22

A group of campers set sail on a voyage to take them to a virtual land. But with this trip would come a lot of risk.

The group had made it to the land. What lay before them was an array of colour, a sparkle of light, a world of wonder. This magical land had never been heard of before and they knew they would make a mark in history. They had found something rare something magical something of their own that no one would ever know about. So if they could keep this there’s it would start a new chapter in life as we know it

The 5 big questions: What Do You Think Fezle

#1: What makes this book good?

Its a short interesting story that will leave you stuck on the end of your seat. All the action and adventure is just marvellous. As you get to have fun and go on adventures by beans side.

#2: What would make this book better?

We all agree that this book would be better if it was longer and had more humour. Also we would of liked to add more genres for example fantasy and crime.  Finally if it didn’t jump to different parts of the story all the time it would be great because we would get to focus on one part of the story at a time.

#3: What is the most important thing the author want you to know?

You cant get everything you want but in the end it could turn out to be a pro instead of a con. Bean wants a dog but but as we got through the story we came to realize that it was better of that she didn’t have one because it would not have worked out right for her as she lived in a very high profile pent house.

#4: Why did the author write this?

To let people know that if you stick with your family it will turn out better for you in the future. Bean and her  family moved to Sydney for her dads new career but at first Bean didn’t want to move to Sydney. Towards the end Bean gets to like Sydney more and more and realizes how lucky she actually was that her family didn’t listen to her.

#5: What dose the audience need to know to understand and enjoy this book?

That most of the action happens towards the end so don’t give up if you find it boring. At the start there is no action because it is just explaining what is going on in Beans life so far. In the end it lets you take part in all her adventures and fun.

Camp reflection

It was a bright sunny day in  shafts-bury St but all was quit  apart from house number 46. I was no ordinary day at no. 46 in fact it was a very special day for the youngest daughter. She had been waiting for this day and it was finally here “School camp” she shouted whilst doing a happy and very funky dance. “Brigitte be quite” shouted her mum “You will wake the whole house up”. I remember being so excited that I wanted to leave at 5 am but that was far from happing. I just had to wait until it was time to finally leave and boy that was exciting.

As they loaded my towering suitcase onto the bus I could almost feel sparks shooting up my body.” Hey “one of the girls said to me “Are you excited”? I asked myself do I really have to answer that ? ” Of coarse I am”!!!!

20 mins later

We were all talking and getting hyped on the way to warrantable apart from one man at the back of the bus . zzzzzzzzzz snort snort he was sleeping already!! But instead of help the situation two girls decided to play musical cameras and pass the photo of him sleeping around to every single Pearson. I must admit it was pretty funny but also got the whole bus to crack up in laughter.

Our first stop was the very moment that I realized my nectarine had been squished to death and died all over my new bag.It was also the aboriginal centre. were we learnt about bush tucker and got to throw a boomerang.  We also had a guided nature walk through the tribe lands of the wanderer people. It was very interesting and a very great learning experience because I got to experience the difference between old times and new times. As it was a very special day in modern history as the one direction album had been newly released and I already missed listening to the overpowering sounds of midnight memories (the album)

This trip to the Narana Creations really reminded me of a trip we to to flagstaff hill. Flagstaff hill is another olden times venue that we visited. Flagstaff hill taught us about the olden times of Victoria Melbourne. It was really interesting my favourite part was the lazor light show the lazor light show was so cool because all the people in the front row got wet by the water fountain.

By this time we had already been settled into our cabins and we had stayed for roughly  one night. Unfortunately there was no hope in hell that i was getting sleep that night night. We had a girl named Madeline in our room and she was making noise the whole night some was zzzzzzzz another was ppppppp and finally ssssssssssssssss. It was so hard and after the trip down and all the activity’s we had done already I just wanted to have some rest. So I face planted my head into my pillow, blocked my ears, and finally I got to sleep.

My favourite activity was when we got to make our own kites. My kite was a tree branch with leaves and two birds on the top of the branch. We made our kites with permanent text as. Finally when we got back to school and we got to fly our kites.

So that’s basic my favourite moments of camp and i cant wait until we go to a camp next year.
